Toolkit full of resources
Posters, leaflets, templates, signposting, training resources, and an action plan your club can start using straight away.

The Florio Club Partnership Programme gives golf clubs a practical way to become more mentally healthy places to be.
It helps clubs promote preventative mental fitness, support better conversations, and make help easier to find across everyday club life.
Each club nominates a Mental Health Lead to help drive the programme internally, supported by Florio's club framework, practical toolkit, guidance, and ongoing support.

Posters, leaflets, templates, signposting, training resources, and an action plan your club can start using straight away.

Every club works differently. The framework can be used in a way that fits your people, your setup, and your pace.

Built with Florio's clinical team, so the guidance is safe, practical, and ready for real club life.

There is no fee for clubs to join the Club Partnership Programme.
1 in 4 adults
experience at least one diagnosable mental health problem each year.
74%
of suicides registered in England in 2024 were male.
Men aged 50 to 54
had the highest suicide rate in England in 2024.
Sources: NHS England adult mental health data, ONS suicide registrations for England and Wales, and Samaritans latest suicide data. Last checked: June 2026.
Golf clubs sit right in the middle of that reality. Many have large numbers of male members in the age groups most affected by poor mental health and suicide, plus staff, volunteers, and regulars who spend meaningful time in the club environment.
At the same time, golf clubs have something powerful: regular contact, familiar faces, movement, fresh air, belonging, and community.
With the right tools and support, golf clubs can support their community's mental wellbeing, make mental health easier to talk about, and play a part in saving lives.
People stay loyal to clubs where they feel known, included, and looked after.
Club managers, pros, bar teams, greenkeepers, captains, welfare officers, and committee members all carry pressure. The programme gives them structure instead of leaving people to improvise.
Being a Florio partner signals that your club takes its people seriously.
A visible mental health culture helps your club stand out. Younger golfers notice this stuff.
Signposting is visible before someone needs it, not buried in a folder after a difficult moment.
Clubs are social places as much as sporting places. The programme helps them act like it.
Golf clubs see patterns. Someone stops entering comps, misses the roll-up, vanishes from the bar after a round. That matters.
Better conversations, better connection, more movement, more reasons to keep showing up. None of it fixes everything. All of it helps.
The programme gives your club practical tools it can use straight away, with Florio support behind them.

We have developed a clinically informed framework around five areas that make a mentally healthy golf club.
Every club is different, so this is built to be flexible. You can adapt the framework to fit the people and the setup at your specific club.
Clear ownership, senior backing, and a plan that makes mental health part of how the club is run.
